engineer by qualification, Narendra Nahata began his working life with a small business and was active in social life through the local Lions Club. He entered politics in 1985 following the death of his father, an eminent lawyer known particularly for election and criminal law and a former Member of Parliament.

Elected to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1985, he became a Minister in 1993 and served again from 1998. His public work has included technical and medical education, science and technology, commerce and industries, rural industries and other responsibilities.

Alongside public life, he developed a long-term interest in creating institutions in a smaller town of Madhya Pradesh. The central idea was to bring education, banking and opportunity closer to people and to contribute to the identity and development of Mandsaur and the wider Malwa region.

Public Life

Public service & contributions

His ministerial work covered education, technology and industrial development.
